OUR MISSION
OUR APPROACH TO FAITH & COMMUNITY CARE
At First Presbyterian Church, our mission is simple: we are Christians—Serving, Learning, and Loving. Through these principles, we strive to embody Christ’s example and nurture a community rooted in faith, growth, and compassion.
SERVING
We are committed to being Christ’s hands and feet in the world, focusing on service over status. Inspired by Mark 10:43-45, we reject worldly ideas of greatness, recognizing that true greatness comes through humble service. In every act, we aim to reflect the love of Christ, serving others with dedication and kindness.
LEARNING
Our faith journey is one of constant learning. As Presbyterians, we embrace curiosity and welcome the questions that arise from engaging with God’s word. Like Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:15, we approach Scripture thoughtfully, valuing the intellect and insights of each individual. Together, we explore the mysteries of faith and grow in understanding.
LOVING
Love is the foundation of everything we do. Without love, even the grandest actions are empty. We are called to embody the profound love of God, described beautifully in 1 Corinthians 13. Love inspires patience, kindness, humility, and joy in truth. Our goal is for every action we take to be infused with this divine love, following the example set by God, who is love (1 John 4:8).
