Breaking Bread, Building Community, and Strengthening the Body of Christ

It is always a struggle to find the “right” time for any group of people to meet. As our church continues to grow and become more active, there is also an increased need for groups to plan for and reflect on the events. Additionally, we have members who live further from the church and with increased gas prices prefer to make fewer trips if possible. As a result, we have noticed more and more groups scheduling their meetings on Sunday mornings after worship.

Your Session has decided to try an innovative experiment that we believe will not only address these concerns but will also help us get more connected to each other, improve communication, and provide consistency for our already busy schedules. Beginning on October 11, 2026, we are asking for meetings of Commissions, Committees, and Ministry Teams to meet after worship on the second Sunday of each month. Deacons, Finance, and Personnel will continue their normal meeting times, but will have members present to share in our overall planning. In January, your Session will evaluate what we have learned for moving into 2027.

These meetings will take place in the Fellowship Hall, with each group gathering at a different table. We will start at 11:00 am with a potluck meal. At 11:15 we will have a brief devotional, prayer, and an opportunity to communicate important information to everyone. The meetings will start around 11:30 am.
