On Sunday, October 5, we celebrated World Communion Sunday. The first Sunday in October was designated as World Communion Sunday, which celebrated our oneness in Christ with all our brothers and sisters around the world. Rev. Dr. Craig Alwin led us in 9 a.m. worship with the sermon, “Authentic Faith.”
Here are a few questions to ponder:
- What is “faith” to you? How would you define “faith” to a friend?
- How is our faith as small as the disciples when faced with improbable feats such as replanting a tree in the ocean, or stopping human trafficking, or ending senseless killings? Are those even possible?
- Is faith something that we understand as individuals or within a community?
- How might “faith” be understood as an ordinary and everyday praxis, an ongoing spiral-like process of reflection, action, and grace?
