This week’s worship service centered on trusting God through uncertainty and hardship, drawing inspiration from Psalm 16 and Mark 13:1-8. The service began with a warm welcome and community announcements, highlighting opportunities to serve and celebrate during the Advent and Christmas seasons. A beautiful rendition of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” reminded the congregation of God’s steadfast love and provision.
In the sermon, titled “The End of the Beginning”, we explored how faith rooted deeply in God’s promises sustains us during life’s challenges. Jesus’ words in Mark 13 served as a call to prepare for trials, not with fear but with trust in God’s eternal plan. The message emphasized letting go of worldly distractions and anchoring our hope in God’s enduring love and the gift of new life in Christ. This theme was echoed in the children’s message, which reassured young hearts that God is always present, even in times of uncertainty.
The service concluded with prayers for those facing hardships and a call to live out God’s justice, love, and peace in the world. Uplifting hymns and the benediction reminded the congregation of God’s faithfulness and the hope that sustains us as we anticipate the coming Advent season.
